Asha Stanford and AID – Bay Area Chapter hosted P. S. Ajay Kumar to talk about the Rights and Entitlements under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). He talked about the background and requirement for an Employment Guarantee Scheme, work that APVVU and partner organizations do in increasing awareness and accessibility to the scheme for the marginalized communities in AP and the many positives that are seen in the communities due to the economic activities of the scheme.
Asha for Education, Boston Chapter had piloted an NREGA awareness campaign with a long-time project partner, Sahanivasa and APVVU. The successes seen in the effort are heartening.
